Each circle is a partner, grouped by focus area; bigger circles mean more total funding. Select a circle to see its grant history. Keyboard: press Tab to move between focus areas and the arrow keys to move between partners. The same information is in the Cards and Table views.

About this prototype: how it meets accessibility and mobile standards

Accessible by design (WCAG 2.2 AA)

The cluster map keeps the familiar Kumu look, but every circle is a named, keyboard-operable button. Tab moves between focus areas and the arrow keys move between partners.
Everything else is real HTML text, including the chart, which can also be shown as a data table.
All filters are standard buttons, menus and switches that announce their state.
The results count is announced to screen readers when it changes.
Grant history opens in an accessible dialog: keyboard focus moves in, Esc closes it, and focus returns to where you were.
Focus areas always carry a text label, never color alone. Color contrast is at least 4.5:1.

Built for phones

On phones, the focus-area clusters stack in one column, with nothing to pinch or pan.
Tap targets are 40–44px, and pinch-zoom and text resizing are never blocked.
No map library or Kumu subscription: the cluster layout is about 150 lines of our own code.
Supports light and dark mode and respects reduced-motion settings.

Ready for a WordPress plugin

Each partner becomes a WordPress post, and grants are entries under it: year, amount, activity and note.
Totals, year counts and filters are calculated automatically, never typed in by hand.
Each partner gets its own shareable link, like the one in your address bar when a partner is open.
All labels are translatable in WPML (English and Spanish).
Grant amounts can be shown or hidden site-wide with one setting.
