LASC is pleased to continue our partnership with Food for the Poor. In 2022, we worked with Food for the Poor on three different projects in the regions of Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, and Jamaica
Community Transformation:
Sustainable Community Development and Sustainable Community Redevelopment Pre-Assessments – This funding supported 14 pre-Community Transformation assessments over 5-6 months in Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, and Jamaica.
Other Relief & Recovery Projects:
Caritas: United for Food: Increasing Food Availability and Production in Guatemala – This funding improved food security, increased food production, and reduced food related expenses for 700 families (3500 individuals) in 7 municipalities through the construction of home gardens, equipment of greenhouses, and agricultural training.
Mercado Global: Artisan Income Development – This program provided 470 female artisans in Guatemala with the technical training, business development support and production tools they need to sell to the international market in Guatemala. Within 2022, Mercado Global saw an increase in annual net income from a baseline of $152 to $1,751.
